Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND)
Warboys Primary Academy has very carefully planned provision for pupils with SEND.
We follow the Local Authority admissions policy for all pupils, including pupils with SEND.
Miss Leach is the Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo). She coordinates the provision made to support children with special educational needs and disabilities.
At Warboys Primary Academy, we are committed to inclusive practice and removing the barriers to learning which children with SEND can experience. High quality teaching that is differentiated and personalised will meet the individual needs of the majority of children, but we recognise that children with SEND may need educational provision that is additional to or different from this.
If you are concerned about your child’s learning, first make an appointment to speak to their class teacher. If required, they will then arrange for you to meet with Miss Leach.

SEND Information Hub/ Local Offer:
The “Local Offer” is Cambridgeshire County Council’s published overview of how children and young people aged 0 – 25 who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are supported.
Following the Children and Families Act, enacted in September 2014, all local authorities across the UK must publish health, education and social care services and support information for SEND children and young people. This must include eligibility criteria. Once published, authorities must review the Offer regularly and consult with families and young people during the update process.
In May 2023, the Local Authority changed the name it’s known by to try and make it more accessible and understandable to users – it’s now known as the SEND Information Hub.
The SEND Information Hub is a resource for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). It can also be used by parents and families to find out what support and services are available locally and how to access them.

OAP Toolkit:
Ordinarily, available provision can be defined as the provision made for children whose special educational needs can be met from the resources generally available to the school or setting. This will apply to all children without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), but children with an EHCP will also benefit from this type of provision in addition to the provision written in their plan.
See attached poster: OAP Toolkit
Pinpoint:
Pinpoint provides help and information to parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as gives parent carers opportunities to have a say and get involved in improving local SEND services.
